And there once was a man,
and he walked alone upon a deserted, filthy land.
A place of idolatry,
a place of lust,
a place of sloth,
a place of wrath,
a place of gluttony.
And he was born, born unlike any other man.
He had been born without a thumb,
so that he may never hold onto anything.
He had been born without an index finger,
so that he may never lead others anywhere.
He had been born without a middle finger,
so that he may never condemn anyone.
He had been born without a ring finger,
so that he may never marry someone.
He had been born without a pinky,
so that he may never make nor keep a promise.
For that, he walked and walked deeper into that helpless land.
And he was seen, but never acknowledged.
And he was heard, but never listened to.
And he was felt, but never held onto.
But he had never cursed that land nor its people,
for they were all slaves to forces above.
That land was built upon gluttony,
and so, its people were always hungry.
They consumed, consumed, consumed.
Even with a full stomach, they never stopped.
They consumed, consumed, consumed.
Chewing and chewing on the walls, so they may always feel the sensation of eating.
They consumed, consumed, consumed.
And with growling stomachs, they turned their hunger unto themselves.
They consumed, consumed, consumed.
Thus, a drop of self-control would make anyone the king,
until the king would inevitably succumb to his own hunger.
That man, in that deserted, forsaken, infernal land
desired no riches, no wisdom, no strength,
he desired naught but to be acknowledged,
he desired naught but to be listened to,
he desired naught but to be held.
He grew to idolize those desires.
And he lusted for them.
But he did nothing to achieve them.
As such, his hatred grew each and every day.
For he desired naught but to consume and be consumed.
One day, his selfish desires came true,
and a great, great cold came upon that land.
With nothing to consume, the people consumed one another.
Selfishly, they burned each other to bring warmth unto themselves.
And when they saw that man, they acknowledged him.
And when they cut into him, they listened to his screams.
And when they ate his flesh, they held him by his bones.
But why?
How could them?
How could he?
How could you?
How could i?
And how?
I'm scared to be alone.
To be surronded by people.
I'm scared to be alone.
To be covered in self-loathing.
Now. Now. Now.
Open your mind.
And the truth shall set you free.
Open your mind.
And your delusions will let you be.
Condemnation, forever searching for someone to blame.
Let's all love Lain.
