a consciousness is the window of one's brain to the outside world, allowing it to react as it'd like it also allows us to form coherent thoughts which we can then use to do stuff outside of our survival needs, such as creating an economic system that would arise from an imaginary need to pay and trade for items had we no consciousness, would such thoughts be formed? what would we be if not a machine whose sole and primary objective would be to reproduce and stay alive? would we be any different from a being whose only purpose is to replicate and eat? of course we would. after all, the human brain has more capabilities than possibly any other animal or living being, particularly due to the fact that we have managed to basically domesticate ourselves. what would happen, if such domestication never occurred, we shall never know. i have not used drugs. thiuerry
